The legend of Rey Asesino episode 3

   

         

                  To fly. you have to fall. 

After finishing his duties in the gym he closes it and gets ready for his workout as usual train cardio boxing and weightlifting. While heading to the shower he looks at himself in the mirror trying to imagine what kind of outfit he'll be wearing in his first match and how the ring announcer will call his name will it be REEEY ASESINO or REY ASESIIIIINOOO 

Will he get some pyro going on for him? What song should be played? He grabs that plastic bag and wears it and it awakens a fighter inside of him he feels comfortable enough to do his training again, and again and again. That's not normal, he questions himself.

Rey woke up early in the morning to let his uncle know that he will be off work today because he has some things to do. Rey took the bus to the city and asked the bus driver if he knew El Santo's gym:" of course, it's right after the next station the first left you should see this big brown building." 

Rey thanked the bus driver and hopped off. He stood in front of the building rey to himself:" can't believe I'm going to get trained by the legend himself." He goes inside the building and asked for a subscription

 the receptionist:" the basic course will be 600 pesos the advanced course at 1300 pesos and the full course 2000 pesos" 

Rey realized that he could only afford the basic training but that was not going to stop him. He got the subscription. 

The receptionist:" thank you for joining el Santo's training facility with the basic courses you'll get a total of 9 sessions of training. 3 sessions a week. We hope that you enjoy your time here." 

Rey went back home excited for his first training session. 

After checking out of the gym he goes to el Santo's facility where he meets with his classmates and chats for a bit then there comes el Santo himself wearing a white costume with a pink shirt and his white mask. 

El Santo:" run in circles until I say stop" 

Just after they started, El Santo left. They got confused but started running anyway, an hour passed by but he didn't come back. This felt like a scam for most of them so they stopped others left in anger. El Santo came back to look at the people who kept running " stop!" he paused for a bit " now keep doing jumping jacks until I say stop" this time he didn't leave he grabbed a chair instead and watched as the trainee struggled to survive. They couldn't wait to hear him say stop. Some couldn't keep up and downright collapsed right there but not rey thanks to his training in the gym this was just a warm-up for him.

 El Santo: "Alright gentlemen before learning how to land some strikes I want you to get hit for a bit to see so you understand the importance of dodging and how to inflict maximum damage on your opponents. Line up I'll be giving each one of you a single chop. That chop will either be your welcome to Lucha libre or your goodbye be honest to yourself when you get chopped. Are you willing to get hit with 10 of them on a daily basis? The first one didn't even get hit. He took his gym bag and left.

 Then the second took it like a champion but you could see the tears building up. And now it's Rey's turn he took the chop and he stood there unfazed by it. El Santo:" good boy" after the rest of the class passed the chop test only 5 of them remained Rey and el Fantasma are the most promising of them el Santo told them that's enough for today.

He goes back to the gym to clean it after it closes. And then he wore the mask and he felt like going for round two in his training. The power of a thousand tigers was inside of him at the moment working out for 3 hours straight then heading back home.

 While he's on his way Andrade asks him why he didn't join him at the pub he said he's too tired and goes on his way. Laying in his bed looking at the mask trying to figure out a design for it. Something that represents him, something that can be a summarization for him. Maybe it's too early for it. 

In the next session, he's already running before everyone gets there. El Santo is watching him from the CCTV but didn't want to mention it. After the other four showed up, El Santo came and asked them to run as usual. One of the trainees asked el Santo why he keeps telling them to run for hours on end. El Santo explained that he wouldn't waste time teaching people who can barely have the stamina to run for a few hours. 

El Santo:" gentlemen time to get in the ring we'll be doing a tag match, Rey you be the referee." 

El Fantasma's performance was above the other guys. He dodges the clotheslines and kicks how easy he makes it to move like that he doesn't know how to land powerful strikes nor submit opponents. El Santo told Fantasma's partner and Rey to switch roles. They were the perfect mix. Rey was so powerful he got tagged in and his opponent tried to strike but he took the punch like it was nothing then he gave him a double jack and an uppercut so hard that it pushed him back into his corner. He tags out and Rey interrupts his attack with a superkick so loud you would think it was a gunshot. 1 2 3. 

El Santo:" you should learn how to hit. You should learn how to stop getting hit. You three go hit the bags." 

El santo steps into the ring:" alright fantasma you're good at surviving but that's not going to win you any match try to inflict some damage go for the legs restrict their movement while you build your momentum. And you rey you're as strong as a brick but you can't keep sucking the damage it's will leave long term injuries i mean look at my hip I've replaced it twice because of my finishers. 

Alright both of you go I'll be the referee rey if you get hit more than 10 times you lose and fantasma if you don't land at least 10 strikes you lose, ring the bell" 

Rey got off-guard by fantasma early strikes; he already landed two swift kicks to his outer thigh. Rey goes in for the strike but fantasma dodges and goes for the rope aiming to perform a Hurracarrana but rey reversed it i to a powerbomb with a pin combo a kick out after 1 fantasma quickly recovered and kept dodging Rey's strikes until he realised he got himself cornered rey unleashes a lightning fast combo of jabs hooks knees and headbutts until fantasma was knocked out cold he pins him for the three count but el santo said that fantasma was the winner. :'' you've been so focused on punching him you forgot to dodge he landed 12 strikes in total while you were hitting him he hit back therefore he's the winner" 

Rey:" but I pinned him I thought that's what matters" 

El santo:"Do you want to be a champion?" 

Rey:" obviously!" 

El santo:" champions to go into battles they go into war you won this battle but he won the war you can never be a champion with this mindset go hit the ropes for the rest of the session" 

An angry ray leaves the ring and starts to mumble under his breath. He got approached by fantasma :" hey man I wasn't trying to show off or anything don't make this personal" 

Rey:" it's never personal"
